Doctor Piero Giovanni Bruni is general surgeon of the General Surgery Unit, Day & Week Surgery section of the IRCCS Galeazzi Hospital – Sant’Ambrogio and collaborates with Palazzo della Salute – Wellness Clinic in Milan. He also practices his profession at Casa di Cura la Madonnina.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan in 1998 where, in 2004, he specialized in General Surgery. Subsequently, at the University of Insubria, he obtained the three-year master’s degree in Oncological Surgery in 2007 and, in 2018, concluded the Doctorate in Surgical Biotechnology.

Since 2002 he has been involved in humanitarian surgical missions in Africa (Tchad, Burundi, Benin) and is a member of the European Hernia Society and of the International Advisory Board of Hernia/Springer Nature.

He is active in the field of scientific research, in fact he is the author and co-author of multiple publications in various international scientific journals and of chapters in textbooks on General Surgery and Hernia Surgery. Since 2016 he has also been active at the Research and High Specialization Center on Abdominal Wall Hernia Surgery – Milan Hernia Center – MHeC. His areas of activity, research and interest are pathologies of the abdominal wall, such as hernias and incisional hernias, chronic inguinal pain and pubalgia, diastasis recti and post-pregnancy floppy abdomen.
